On Friday, July 30 2021 at 09:30 a.m. Licensing Program Analysts (LPA), Elvira Sierra, met with Director, Melinda Gomez for an annual inspection. Facility operates in 3 classrooms M-F from 06:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m. year round. Present during the inspection were 6 staff caring for 36 preschool children. A census was taken and teacher to child ratio is met in today inspection.

At 09:45 a.m. LPA inspected the facility indoors and outdoors for health and safety hazards and observed the following; Classrooms have age appropriate toys and equipment that are in good repair. Cubbies are located inside the classrooms for children’s belongings. Facility has sufficient napping equipment for children in care. Medications and cleaning products and Toxins are maintained inaccessible to children. Facility don’t have any children that required medication at this time. Restrooms are maintained clean, in good repair and with adequate supplies. Staff use a separate restroom. The isolation area for ill children is in the director office and the use of the staff restroom if needed. Drinking water is readily available Indoors via pitcher/cups and children have their own label bottle water that teachers bring outdoors for children if needed. Facility has a fire extinguisher that meets the minimum requirements, a smoke and a carbon monoxide detector. Outdoor play area is free from hazards and dangerous conditions. LPA received an updated LIC 500 (personnel report).

Emergency supplies are available and maintained. First Aid Kit is properly maintained and kept inaccessible to children. Classrooms has appropriate postings. Emergency Drills are conducted monthly and are properly logged. Program provide breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. . LPA discussed with the director that the person who signs a child in/out uses their full legal signature and records the time of day. A sample of Children’s files and staff files were reviewed. Children's files contain a medical assessment and emergency contact ID information. Staff files contain a health screening. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification.

This is an amended report.
LPA discussed the Safe Sleep Regulations with Director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep Webpage https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/childcare-licensing/public-information-and-resources/saf-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended to register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchase equipment.

Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.


Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual – Regulations and Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. A notice of Site Visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director.
