25 | 04/14/21 at about 10:005 AM Licensing Program Analyst, Elvira Sierra met with Director, Autumn Wright to conduct a schedule Case management inspection. Due to COVID-19 pandemic LPA Sierra conducted inspection via Zoom. The purpose of the inspection is to provide technical assistance and ensure that the facility is safe for the care and supervision of children. Program operates at the Julian Morgan School site in room P10 Monday through Friday from 6:30 to 09:00am and 12pm to 06:00pm. Facility follows the school calendar year. There were no children present on today’s inspection.
At 11:30 AM, with the help of the Director, a virtual health and safety inspection in all areas accessible to children was conducted and the following was observed; Classroom have age appropriate toys and equipment that are in good repair. Cubbies are located inside the classroom. Toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary and operating condition. The isolation area for an ill child is behind the teacher's desk with the use of the staff's bathroom if needed. The floors appear cleaned though the facility. Outdoor play area is in good condition free of any hazards. Drinking water is readily available both indoors and outdoors via water bottles which can be refilled within the center. Required postings were observed at the entrance of each classroom. Emergency supplies are available and maintained.
COVID-19 Self Assessment guide was completed and provided to LPA via email. LPA and Director review completed COVID-19 Self-assessment guide. Per Director, parents drop off children at the entrance of the classroom and sign the children in and out. Staff and children wear face masks throughout the day. Health and well-ness check for children is conducted each day upon children’s arrival. The facility’s cleaning and sanitation policies guidelines on how to prevent and reduce transmission of COVID-19 for staff, children and visitors has been incorporated into childcare center’s operation. Director stated child care areas are cleaned and sanitized throughout the day. Children have access to hand sanitizer under staff supervision.
An exit interview was conducted with Director via Telephone call. no deficiencies were observed at the time of the tele-visit. This report (LIC 809), and Noticed of Site Visit will be delivered to the Director electronically via email. Notice of Site Visit should remain posted for 30 days for parental review. Acknowledgement of delivery will constitute acknowledgement of the report in lieu of signature. |
