On February 24, 2020 at 1:00pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Marissa Soto met with Licensee's assistant, Aurora Ramirez for an unannounced Annual inspection. Present in the home were Licensee's assistant supervising 8 children. At 1:10 pm Licensee Maria Espinoza arrived with 5 more children, making todays census 13. (Ages: 3 months, 2 years old, 2 years old, 2 years old, 2 years old, 3 years old, 4 years old, 5 years old, 5 years old, 6 years old, 8 years old, 9 years old, and 9 years old). Licensee stated there are no new residents in the home since licensure, Home is 1 story, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms. Day care hours of operation are Monday-Friday 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM year round with periodic breaks through the year. All adults living in the home have criminal background clearance.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children and the following was observed front yard, kitchen, living room, family room, dining room, bedroom #1 and bedroom #2, laundry room, and backyard; Off-limits areas are: front bedroom, and fenced area in the backyard/shed area. LPA observed hazardous items properly stored out of child reach on high shelves in kitchen/laundry room area. There were no hazardous items located in the bathroom. Medication are stored in a high cabinet in the laundry room made inaccessible to children. Fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are functional. Toys appear to be safe and age appropriate. Licensee has a pool surrounded by 6ft iron fence with self latching locked gate. Outdoor play area is free of hazardous and dangerous conditions and is fenced for supervision.
A sample of children’s files were reviewed and determined to be in compliance with licensing requirements. A current roster is being maintained and fire and disaster drills are conducted at least once every six months and are documented on a sheet. Current pediatric CPR and first aid certification was verified and expires on 06/23/2020.
