Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stacey Williams met with Site Supervisor Petra Guillen for the purpose of an unannounced annual random inspection. There were no infants present during today’s inspection. LPA was informed the center operates for an eight month session and is currently on break.

LPA toured the building including all activity and classroom spaces, restrooms, food service, and outdoor play areas. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in good condition. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. The areas around or under climbing equipment are cushioned to absorb the fall. Toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. Changing mats are at least one inch thick with raised sides. There is a sink located next to the changing table. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. The food preparation space is free of litter and all food was protected against contamination. Storage containers with solid waste have tight-fitting covers. There is a refrigerator on sight for bottles. Drinking water is readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. LPA observed a binder that is used for guardians to sign in and out of the facility.

Staff and children's records were reviewed. Each child's file contained an emergency card and a medical assessment. LPA observed current Needs and Services Plans. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (exp.10/2020).

Report continues on 809-C.
