On February 28th, 2024, at 10:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) David Nguyen and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Chayntel Hunter conducted a complaint investigation visit and met with Principal, Tammy Wells. The purpose of the inspection visit was to deliver the finding for the above allegations. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection, and both LPA Nguyen and LPM Hunter were granted entrance. LPA toured the facility and observed ninety-five (95) children present and being supervised by twelve (12) adults.
It was alleged that “Staff pinched day care children in care” and “Staff yelled and used inappropriate forms of discipline with day care children.” Throughout the investigation, LPA Nguyen conducted observations and interviewed with Principal, Teachers, and Reporting Party.

Based on interviews with Principal and Teachers, LPA Nguyen learned that childcare teachers used positive discipline—Direction and Re-direction--with childcare children while they were in their teachers’ care. Based on interviews with Principal and Teachers, LPA Nguyen also learned that childcare teachers appropriately interacted with childcare children while childcare children were in their care.

Based on observations and conflicting interviews, LPA Nguyen is unable to determine whether staff pinched day care children in care and staff yelled and used inappropriate forms of discipline with day care children.

LPA David Nguyen determined that the complaint allegations were found to be UNSUBSTANTIATED, meaning although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur at the facility.

Copy of this report was reviewed and provided to Principal. Notice of site visit is posted and shall remain posted for next 30 days.

An exit interview was conducted with Principal, Tammy Wells. A notice of site visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
