25 | On August 17, 2023, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Stacey Williams met with Facility Representative Peggy Bryant for an unannounced required annual random inspection. Facility hours of operation are Mon-Friday, 8:15AM-11:15AM, 12:00PM-3:00PM.
LPAs observed care and supervision of (13) thirteen preschool children supervised by three staff (One Lead Teacher, Two Preschool Teacher Assistants).
LPA inspected all activity and classroom spaces, restrooms, food service, and outdoor play areas. Hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in operable and safe condition. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts, and adequate cushioning was observed in areas underneath climbing equipment. Toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. The food preparation space is free of litter and all food was protected against contamination. Storage containers with solid waste have tight-fitting covers in each classroom. Medications are stored in a central location. One child in the afternoon program has a medical needs assessment on file. LPA observed a functional carbon monoxide detector.
The program offers breakfast and lunch. LPA observed posted menus showing planned meals at least one week in advance. Noncontaminated Drinking water is readily available to children both indoors and outdoors.
Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test.
For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). |
