25 | On January 16, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stacey Williams met with Facility Representative, Alicia Neves for an unannounced annual random inspection. LPA toured the facility including activity and classroom spaces, restrooms, and outdoor play areas. Today’s census included thirty-three children being supervised by 6 staff. The Facility Representative was reminded never to exceed the conditions, limitations and capacity specified on the license. Facility operates with a toddler option. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 6:30AM- 6:30 PM. Criminal record clearances were verified. Facility fees are current.
The Facility Representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Childcare Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA observed that all classrooms appeared clean including the carpets and floors. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. LPA observed a functional carbon monoxide detector. Chemicals and cleaning materials were kept inaccessible to children. Trash cans have tight fitting lids. The Facility Representative stated there are no poisons, bodies of water, or weapons on the premises.
Playground equipment and surfaces were inspected and are in good condition with enough resilient material under climbing structures to absorb a fall. Shade is provided to children via trees. Drinking water was readily available to children both indoor and outdoor.
Menus were posted. Morning and Afternoon snack is provided. LPA observed required licensing postings were visible to parents. LPA observed a current children's roster and fire drill; the last drill was conducted 1/2025. During this inspection, LPA observed that the facility is equipped with First Aid equipment. Sign in sheets were reviewed.
