25 | On Monday, August 16,2021. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvira Sierra met with Sandra I. Castro, for an unannounced annual inspection. Upon arrival present in the facility was Licensee caring for 3 children. Facility hours of operation are: M-F from 05:00 a.m to 07:00 p.m. Capacity and ratio requirements were met on this day. All adults living and working in the home have criminal record clearances on file with Licensing Office. Licensee stated that no new residents moved into the home since licensure. Capacity specified on the license was met on today’s inspection.
At 10:28 a.m a health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children and the following was observed; Licensee is requesting to make a portion of the backyard part of the daycare area on today's inspection. LPA inspected the area of the backyard that is requesting to be added to the daycare. Area was observed to be clean and free of any hazards. Right portion and part of the backyard was approved for care. Off-limit areas include: All bedrooms (including master bathroom), detached garage, left portion of the backyard and back right end of garage. Licensee understand that children may never enter these off-limits areas. The facility appeared orderly and suitable for children. LPA observed the required postings, a working telephone, 2A10BC fire extinguisher and functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. A variety of toys and learning equipment available to the children. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. There are no bodies of water on the premises. Medications, toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Safety latches are in use on some kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets and drawers. The applicant understands that she must ensure the safety latches are not broken. Outdoor play area is fenced for supervision and is free from defects or dangerous conditions.
A random sample of children’s files were reviewed and a copy of the emergency information card was observed in each child's record. LPA observed a current children’s roster and proof of Fire and disaster drills that were properly log. Proof of Immunization for Licensee was provided to LPA on today's inspection.
CPR and First Aid certification was verified and expires on 03/2023.
