25 | On 07/27/23, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvira Sierra met with Director, Mayra Madrigal for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. Director was reminded never to exceed the conditions, limitations and capacity specified on the license. Census included six children supervised by two staff. This is a combination center of infant, and preschool children. The infant program uses classroom #1 only. Facility hour of operation are Monday through Friday 07:30AM to 05:30PM.
LPA toured the facility including all activity and classroom spaces, restrooms, food service, and outdoor play areas. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Age-appropriate furniture and play equipment were observed to be in good repair. Infant changing stations were observed clean with essential supplies to clean and disinfect the changing area. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. The food preparation space is free of litter and all food was protected against contamination. LPA observed that storage containers for solid waste and diaper disposal have tight-fitting covers. Parents provide infant's bottles, cups, diapers. Bottles are cleaned after every feeding. Per facility representative formula is provided by the center and/or parent can bring their own if prefer for particular or allergies reasons. Facility representative stated that infant's blankets are wash after every use and are provided by the center. Program provides baby food for infants who are on solids. Menus are posted in the classroom and drinking water was readily available to children both indoors and outdoors via pitcher and cups. LPA reviewed signing in/out sheets. LPA observed the infant's Needs and Services Plans are current and also reviewed sleeping logs. LPA observed functioning fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide/smoke detectors. Outdoor play is fenced for supervision. Playground equipment and surfaces were observed free of any hazards.
Two staff and five children's records were reviewed and are complete containing required licensing forms. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification.
