Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christopher Jackson conducted an unannounced, random annual inspection on 01/10/2020. LPA met with lead teacher Victoria Brown. Program Manager Renee Sandez arrived later in the inspection. A tour of the facility was conducted inside and outside. The following areas are in compliance during today's inspection. No excluded individuals are present. Staff subject to a criminal record clearance or exemption are associated to the facility.

There are no bodies of water. Firearms and ammunition are not on the premises. Storage for poisons are locked. Disinfectants, hazardous items and medications are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are sufficient, age appropriate and in good repair. Fire drills are conducted and documented at least once every six months. Carbon Monoxide and smoke detectors were present. LPA observed a dual carbon and smoke detector installed in the ceiling of the facility. The playground equipment and outdoor activity space is maintained and in good condition. Wood chips are being used as cushioning around the climbing equipment and level is sufficient to absorb a fall. LPA observed sign in front of structure noting the equipment is approved for children ages two thru five years. Children's toilets, hand washing facilities are sanitary. Floors are clean and free of debris. Food preparation area is clean. Trash containers for food waste are covered. All food and beverages are stored in covered containers and labeled. Program manager stated the food served in the program is brought in by Creative a third party agency. LPA observed drinking water is available indoors and lead teacher Brown stated a jug is used to provide water outside. Menus are posted. The facility is in compliance with conditions and limitations specified on the license. An electronic Sign in/sign out sheets are maintained. First Aid/CPR reviewed and in compliance. LPA observed CPR to expire on 06/2020 LPA conducted a review for six of the children's files in care. Three of the staff records were reviewed. During today's inspection LPA observed staff role modeling for children. LPA observed staff interacting with children with low tones and calm body language. LPA spoke with several children in care. All children spoken with enjoyed attending their school.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services- IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA discussed the Mandated Reporter Training with program manager. LPA reminded the program manager of the two year renewal requirement for the training. The OCAP modules are free of cost and available at: http://www.mandatedreporterca.com/. The training is currently provided in English. LPA observed training completion certificates in the staff files reviewed during today's inspection.

LPA provided the Community Care Licensing website www.ccld.ca.gov, so the program manager can obtain updated licensing information, new regulations and access forms. LPA advised program manager of their responsibility to stay current in regards to new regulations.

No Title 22 Deficiencies observed in the areas that were evaluated. LPA reviewed report with the program manager and provided copies. An exist interview was conducted. LPA observed the Notice of Site Visit posted and the program manager understands it must remain posted for 30 days.
