25 | On December 13, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stacey Williams conducted an unannounced annual random inspection and met with Licensee, Megan Nixon. LIC (126) Entrance Checklist for Family Childcare Homes was provided and reviewed with Licensee. There were 11 children being supervised by Licensee and her two assistants. Facility hours of operation are from 7:00am -5:30 pm five days a week. Licensee stated she does not provide overnight care. Facility fees were discussed with Licensee. Licensing fees are current. Criminal record clearances have been verified.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Childcare Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. The childcare activity area is located in the back of the home which Licensee identifies as the activity center. Upon entry, LPA observed the posting of the facility license, Emergency Disaster Plan, Earthquake Preparedness Checklist and Notification of Parent Rights. Facility off-limit areas are: garage, master bedroom, guest bedroom. Off-limits areas will remain inaccessible to children by way of gate and closed doors.
