Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Stacey Williams and Alecia Sifuentes met with Assistant Director, Gloria Barbero and Quality Assurance Administrator, Sylvia Ortega for the purpose of an announced Change of Capacity case management tele-inspection via Google Duo in lieu of an on-site visit due to COVID-19. Assistant Director requests to serve 16 toddler children from 18 months to 36 months. The program will operate Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. The fire clearance was granted and received on April 14, 201.


INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
There are two toddler option classrooms. Toddler children currently occupy classroom #8 and the facility has added an additional classroom #10. Classroom #8 was not measured during today’s visit due to individual measurements previously recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024).

LPAs observed a sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, chairs, cubbies, and napping cots. LPAs observed the Assistant Director measure classroom #10 classroom. The toddler option classroom space contains a total of 506 square feet, which will accommodate Director’s request for an additional 8 toddler children. There is 1 toilet and 1 sink for the children, and a separate private restroom for the staff. Classroom #10’s measurements were recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024).

OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
There is one outdoor area on the property. The outdoor area is shared with separate play areas for the toddler and infant children. The outdoor play area is fenced with a chain link fence that is at least four feet tall. LPAs observed a sufficient amount of equipment and toys. There are no bodies of water on the premises. There are shaded areas supplied by trees and overhangs. The outdoor activity space was previously measured. The outdoor play area contains a total of 1396 square feet, which will accommodate Assistant Director's request for 16 toddler children. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024) dated, 12/3/2015.

Incidental Medical Services and a Plan of Operation is located in the facility file. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department.

This facility evaluation report was discussed and emailed to the Assistant Director. Assistant Director was encouraged to the visit the Department's website at WWW.CDSS.CA.GOV for information regarding childcare updates, forms, regulations and legislation pertaining to childcare centers.

Effective today, April 21, 2021, LPAs will approve the facility’s Change of Capacity licensed to serve 16 toddlers age 18 to 36 months under a Toddler Option Program and 8 infants.
