25 | On September 28, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stacey Williams met with Licensee, Kristi Perdue for an unannounced annual one-year inspection. There were eight children present during the inspection and supervised by Licensee and her Assistant. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 6:30AM-6:00PM. Licensee stated that she does not provide overnight care.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
The facility is a two-story home and the off-limits areas include: entire upstairs, the backyard and the garage. The licensee stated that there are no weapons in the home. There is an underground pool on the property with mesh fencing surrounding the pool per regulatory standards. The backyard is currently off limits. Per the Licensee, the backyard will have the sod replaced. Licensee will inform LPA once the renovations are completed. Licensee stated she has pet dogs in the home that do not interact with children in care.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in the areas accessible to children. The house has a working telephone, fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector that meet regulations. LPA observed all the required postings in an area visible to authorized representatives. LPA observed all poisons locked with a key lock or combination lock. LPA observed a barricaded fireplace within the facility.
After reviewing the facility files, LPA found that the Licensee has the required immunizations, however her Assistant is missing MMR immunization record. Mandated Reporter Training is not current for Licensee and her Assistant. Licensee understands that Mandated Reporter training must be complete every two years. EMSA /CPR is current for Licensee and her Assistant. Licensee’s CPR expiration date is 12/2023. LPA observed three children’s files did not contain immunization records. Infant files reviewed did not have Individual Sleep Plans (LIC9227) or Safe Sleep logs. Children's roster was observed. Licensee has a current fire drill log on file. The last fire drill was conducted 4/2023. Licensee was reminded that fire drills are to be conducted once every six months and logged.
