25 | On May 30, 2024, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stacey Williams met with Facility Representative, Navi Hyare for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. Program operation hours are Monday through Friday 6:30AM-6:00PM. Upon arrival, LPA observed three (3) infants supervised by two staff. Criminal record clearances were verified. Facility fees were discussed. There is an outdoor space waiver on file.
LPA conducted a health and safety inspection for all areas accessible to children. The Representative stated there are no poisons on the premises. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in good condition. LPA observed a functional smoke/carbon monoxide detector and a fully charged 2A :10BC fire extinguisher. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. Outdoor play area is free from dangerous conditions and playground equipment is securely anchored to the ground. Facility uses rubber padded matting under the play equipment to absorb falls. Per Facility Representative, the infants do not play on the play structure. Outdoor playtime is rotated between programs, with infants occupying the outdoor play area separately. Children bring their own lunch and snacks. Facility has surplus of food stored should a child forget their lunch/snack. Water is accessible to children through filtered water. Water dispenser and disposable cups / water bottles are utilized both inside and outside.
Sign in/out sheets are conducted electronically through the Brigthwell App. Fire drills are conducted every six months.
Child files were reviewed. Each child’s file included information pertaining to their authorized representative, consent for medical treatment, immunization records, infant needs and services plans and safe sleep logs, and a medical assessment form. Files for staff who were present at the facility were reviewed. Files included Mandated Reporter training completion certificates, Health screening report, immunization records, and documentation of educational background, training, and/or experience. CPR/ First Aid certification was verified for staff present. CPR/First Aid certification expiration date is 7/2024.
LPA reviewed the Department's inspection authority and discussed with staff any changes that may occur regarding Director/Site Supervisor or an employee acting in the director's absence must be reported to department within 10 working days.
