25 | On March 28, 2024, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Lauren Scott and Janie Davis met with Licensee, Sadaf Salehi for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. There were thirteen children present at the time of inspection. Licensee's assistants were also present during the inspection. Licensee's operating hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM. to 5:30 PM. LPA discussed fees with licensee.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limits areas include laundry room, garage and master bedroom/ bathroom. At time of inspection, licensee requested to make bedroom 3 off limits. LPA toured the room at time of inspection. New off limits areas: laundry, room, garage, master bedroom/ bathroom and bedroom 3. Off limit areas are being made inaccessible by closed locked doors and baby gates. LPA observed the required postings and a working phone. LPA observed a current roster and documentation that a fire drill is conducted at least once every six months. 2A10BC fire extinguisher meets regulations. LPA observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and verified they were both functional. LPA toured the kitchen area and verified knives and cleaners were inaccessible to children in care.
