On 2/8/22, at 1:00 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced Case Management Inspection of the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC) as a follow up to multiple COVID-19 exposures reported to the Department on 2/1/22 . LPA met with Ashley Shoals, Director of the CCC and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of Director toured the CCC and discussed COVID -19 practices, guidance and safeguards. LPA notes 84 children are on site along with 12 staff members providing supervision.

The CCC has COVID postings at the main entry, along with a large COVID-19 Questionnaire poster. The temperatures of children, as well as other individuals entering the facility are taken outside of the CCC in the front walkway. Upon entry into the CCC, individuals wash their hands. LPA also observed hand sanitizing containers readily available.

Within each classroom, the CCC has cleaning solutions and compounds which are easily accessible to staff members but beyond the reach of children in care. LPA observed marks on the CCC's floor to guide traffic in one direction. The CCC has a dedicated staff member who cleans and sanitizing items in the CCC.

During the inspection, children in care were napping. The spacing of napping children was appropriate. Children have face covering available on site. When awake children over the age of two are required to wear face covering. LPA observed all staff members on site wearing face coverings.

The CCC has a robust mitigation plan to address the spread of COVID 19. The mitigation plan is crafted in conjunction with the Cal Poly University's COVID -19 Prevention Program.

The Director is reminded to regularly review local, state and federal guidance with regard to COVID 19 and report COVID exposures to the Department in line with reporting requirement regulations.
