25 | On 10/6/22, at 10:00 AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Francisca Velazquez conducted an unannounced One Year Required inspection the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Andra Ugaz, Site supervisor of the CCC and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the site supervisor toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The CCC operates an AM and PM program from 8:00 am-11:00am and 12:00 pm through 3:00 pm Monday – Friday. Staff is present in the facility from 7:30am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday. The facility is a preschool age program located in an elementary school. LPA notes that during this inspection there were twelve (12) children present being supervised by two (2) staff.
LPA notes that there is one (1) classroom used for preschool children. The CCC classroom is clean and organized. The CCC has ventilation to afford for childcare. LPA observed age-appropriate toys and furnishings throughout the CCC. LPA observed and tested carbon monoxide detectors in the CCC. The CCC's uses the school’s bathroom. LPA observes that the bathrooms are in safe and sanitary operating condition. LPA notes preschool children have access to three (3) toilets, one (1) urinal, and six (6) sinks for hand washing. Snack/meals are provided by the CCC. Site Supervisor stated that food preparation is conducted in the school's kitchen and delivered to the CCC daily. The CCC provides the children in care filtered water inside the CCC and in the outside play area by means of individual water bottles and water cups. Site supervisor was reminded of the need to have the CCC's water sources tested for lead containment. LPA observed disinfectants are readily accessible to staff but out of reach of children. LPA observed medication is stored in an elevated cabinet in the classroom in a locked box. LPA observed manual sign- in and sign-out sheets containing parents drop off time, pick up time and full signatures. LPA reviewed sign-in and sign-out sheet and notes that all children that were present this morning were signed in.
LPA inspected outdoor play area and notes that all outdoor play area is enclosed by chain link fencing. LPA observed age appropriate toys/play equipment in the play area. The toys/play equipment are free of sharp, loose or pointed objects. The outdoor play area also has ample shade created by a tree and building overhangs. Filtered water is accessible by means of individual water bottles. CONT 809-C |
