Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melissa Stewart conducted an annual random visit and met with a teacher until Director, Mimma Brandonisio, arrived. LPA informed teacher and Director of the reason for the visit. The preschool operates, Monday - Friday, 6:45 AM - 5:45 PM. The center was toured inside and outside. There were 10 children with two staff. The required forms, including snack menu, were posted in the room where the parents sign in and out. The Butterfly Classroom and Caterpillar classrooms were observed to be clean, organized and free of toxins. Parents provide the children's lunches. LPA observed age appropriate tables, chairs, books, and games. Napping cots are stored in the closet. The cleaning products are stored in a storage room which is off limits to children. The most recent emergency drill was conducted on 03/7/2019. There is carbon monoxide detector located in the room where children nap. Director reported that there are no firearms, ammunition or bodies of water on the premises. LPA did not observe any bodies of water. LPA reviewed the medication which is stored in a locked box in the kitchen which is off limits to children. There are first aid kits in both classrooms. There are two restrooms each with one toilet and one sink. The restrooms were observed to clean and free of toxins. There is a drinking fountain located outside of the restrooms.

The outdoor play area is completely fenced. LPA observed age appropriate toys, play structure with adequate cushioning, shade area, and sand box. Drinking water is available both inside and outside.

A sample of children's records were reviewed and found to be complete.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Teachers files reviewed. At least one staff present is current with CPR and First Aid which expires 9/2/2020. Mandated Reporter Training per AB 1207 and immunization requirement per SB 792 was met. LPA reviewed and provided Licensee with a copy of “Child Care Providers Guide to Safe Sleep.” LPA reviewed and provided “Effects of Lead Exposure” to be distributed to all families. Licensee was reminded that it is her responsibility to know the regulations for Child Care Centers which can be accessed on-line at www.ccld.ca.gov.



In areas evaluated, no deficiencies observed.

LPA observed Director post the Notice of Site visit.
