On 9/7/2021 at 1:25pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melissa Stewart conducted an unannounced, Required- 1 year inspection and met with Director, Catherine Evenson outside of the Child Care Center (CCC). LPA conducted a Risk Assessment for COVID19 and all answers indicated no recent exposure to COVID19. The preschool operates, Monday - Friday, 7am - 6pm. All required forms are posted inside the classroom at the main entrance of the center and are also provided to parents via email. Snack menu is updated monthly. The center was toured inside and outside. There were two (2) staff supervising 15 napping children. Parents sign in and out via tablet. Director printed a report of the children signed in today. The number of children signed in by parents corresponded with the number of children present. The classrooms and restrooms were observed to be clean, organized and free of toxins. LPA observed indoor activity centers containing books, puzzles, manipulatives, blocks, arts and crafts and dramatic play materials.

The center conducts monthly emergency and disaster drills. The most recent drill was held on 8/4/2021. The first aid kit and locked medication box are located in the kitchen which is made inaccessible to children by a safety gate. LPA observed the smoke and carbon monoxide detector in the classroom and found it to be operational. Drinking water is available both inside and outside via water jugs with disposable cups or individual water bottles brought from home. Director reported that there are no firearms, ammunition or bodies of water on the premises. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications and other items such as kitchen knives which could pose a danger to children are stored inaccessible to children.

Outdoors, LPA observed age appropriate riding toys and bike path, child sized tables located under a shade tree, and artificial grass area. There are several climbing structures and a swing set with sufficient wood chips to absorb a fall. For reference regarding appropriate cushioning material and depth, see Consumer Product Safety Commission Public Playground Safety Handbook available atwww.cpsc.gov/Safety-Education/Safety-Guides/outdoors/playgrounds Continued on 809-C
