25 | On 10/26/21, at 8:45 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced One Year Required inspection the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Valerie Mason-Gale, Director of the CCC and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of Director, toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The CCC operates out of a module classroom on the grounds of Bishop Elementary School. The CCC's hours of operation are 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday - Friday. During the inspection LPA observed no children in the CCC as the facility's children had began schooling prior to arrival. Director noted 20 children were present along with an additional teacher prior to LPA's arrival.
The classroom of the CCC is organized and the storage space afforded to each child is appropriate. The classroom has age appropriate furnishings for children in care. The classroom has an operable refrigerator which contains food items consumed by the CCC's children. Food items in the CCC's refrigerator are labeled. The CCC provided snacks to children in care while lunches are provided by the elementary school. There is available drinking water fountains for children outside the classroom and bottled water inside. LPA observed a snack menu posted near the entry of the CCC. Additionally, LPA observed required notices and documents posted on the classroom's wall near the entry. LPA reviewed children's In/Out forms upon entry and found that the documents were completed sufficiently.
LPA observed an operable carbon monoxide detector on the wall of the classroom. The detector was tested at 9:15 AM and found to be operable. Disinfectants and cleaning solutions are stored in a locked metal cabinet in the corner of the CCC. Sharps are observed secured in the teacher's desk drawer which is inaccessible to children. Medications is secured in locked cabinet near the classroom entry which is inaccessible to children in care.
The restrooms of the CCC are located in a module building outside of the classroom. LPA observed the restrooms to be in sanitary operating condition. In total, four sinks, six toilets and three urinals are available in
