25 | On 6/5/23, at 10:45 AM , Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced One Year Required Inspection the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Liz Richardson, Director of the CCC and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of Director, toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The center operates from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday. The preschool uses six classrooms for child care. There is a Toddler Option at the CCC. LPA observed 63 children on site during the inspection along with 14 teachers (cleared and associated) providing care and supervision.
Required Licensing forms and documents are observed posted at the office of the CCC. Sign In/Out forms were reviewed and found to be completed appropriately with children's arrival and departure times as well as the signature of parents/ authorized representatives. The classrooms of the CCC are clean and organized. The classrooms have age appropriate toys and furnishings available for children in care. The CCC has carbon monoxide detectors throughout the facility. A carbon monoxide detector in Room One was tested at 11:20 AM and found to be operable. The attached bathroom in each classroom is observed to be in safe and sanitary operating condition. LPA observed an operable refrigerator in the CCC's office. The CCC provides snacks for children in care while lunches are provided by parents. There is available drinking water for children both inside the classroom and outside in the play area. At 10:50 AM, Director informed LPA the CCC has not had the facility's water sources tested for lead containment. LPA informed Director of the regulation pertaining to water testing for lead containment and the need of the CCC to test water sources. In each classroom, disinfectants, cleaning solutions, sharps and medications are secured in elevated cabinets and inaccessible to children.
The CCC has multiple outdoor playground areas. Each playground is enclosed by chain linked fencing. The fences' entry/exit gates are secured. LPA observed age appropriate toys and play equipment in each of the the play areas. The toys and play equipment are in suitable condition and free of sharp, loose or pointed objects. The play structures in the playground areas have adequate cushioning materials to absorb falls and
