On 4/27/2022, 12:30 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced Required one year inspection and explained the purpose of the inspection. Site Supervisor was not present, LPA met with Facility Staff Anabelle Delgado and Danicia Montano. Site Supervisor of CAPSLO Head Start, Maria Orozco was also present. LPA toured the facility inside and out. There were 11 children and 3 staff present during the inspection.

Required licensing forms and notices are posted prominently by the entrance including the menu.. The classroom has age appropriate games, activities, and furniture available for children in care. There are two toilets and 3 sinks available for children's use. The outdoor activity area contains age appropriate play structure. LPA observed outdoor activity areas which included: reading area, turf, shade, sandbox, toys and child sized tables. Water jug provides drinking water outside and Water dispenser provides drinking water inside classroom.

Child Care Center uses written sign-in/out for each child located in each child's cubby. A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed and found complete. Teachers have educational qualifications. Teachers present have current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificates that expire on 2/24/2023. Teachers present have current AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training certificates that expire on 1/26/2023. LPA verified SB 792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis Requirements.Designation of Responsibility (LIC308) needs to be updated with the new Site Supervisor. Site Supervisor should likewise assign a designee in her absence by filling out LIC 308 form

No deficiencies were cited during today's visit, Technical Assistance was issued.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Site Supervisor was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Ms. Maria Orozco, Site Supervisor for CAPSLO Head Start which is located at the same location.
