25 | (2) Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Reyes conducted an unannounced annual/random inspection and met with Director, Laura Viger. Children were getting ready for a nap when LPA arrived. The purpose of the visit was discussed. There were 19 children and 2 teachers present. The licensee, Ms. Shirley Albrecht came in 30 minutes later. The center was toured inside and out. LPA observed age appropriate toys, books and equipment. The outdoor play area is completely fenced, it was observed to be in order and equipped with age appropriate play structures. The surface of the playground is maintained and free of hazards.
There are no bodies of water, there are no guns nor ammunition in the center. Carbon monoxide and smoke detectors are present. Hazardous items are stored and kept inaccessible to children in care. CPR and First Aide certificate expires in 8/13/2019. Staff took AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training on 3/17/2018. Teacher's files were reviewed. Teachers have record of immunization. Children's files were randomly reviewed. Required forms are posted in a prominent location. LPA discussed the AB 2370, Effects of Lead Exposure and provided flyer for distribution to parents of day care children.
Center is not providing Incidental Medical Services (IMS). Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA observed Director posted Notice of Site Visit. FAILURE TO POST THE NOTICE OF SITE VISIT FOR 30 DAYS MAY RESULT IN A $100.00 CIVIL PENALTY. |
