25 | On 5/6/21, at 12:30 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection of the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC) in response to a request to utilize a classroom previously not included in care. The request is also to afford the CCC supplemental/additional space to adhere to COVID- 19 guidance as it relates to social distancing. LPA notes the CCC is on the grounds of Oceanview Elementary School. LPA met Carrie Vanbeveren, Administrator of the CCC, and explained the nature of the inspection. Due to COVID-19 and the California Department of Public Health guidelines for social distancing, the inspection was conducted virtually, via the Face Time Application. Prior to inspection, LPA conducted a Prescreening, asking the Administrator questions related to COVID exposure questions. All responses provided by the Administrator suggest no COVID exposures on site. There are 13 children in care at the CCC at the time of the inspection.
LPA toured the interior and exterior of the CCC with the Administrator. The classroom ("Classroom E") to be considered for care is in a potable building. The classroom has ample ventilation and air conditioning to accommodate children in care. Likewise, the classroom has appropriate furnishing and equipment for the CCC's school age children. LPA observed an operable carbon monoxide detector which was tested and found to be operable at 12:45 PM. Cleaning supplies and toxins within the room are stored in a cabinet which is secured. Given the fact the classroom is a supplemental space, the CCC's the existing restrooms and outdoor play yard will continue to be utilized.
The classroom meets Title 22, Division 12 regulations for the care of school age children at the CCC and can be used in addition to the preexisting areas of care, effective forthwith.
No deficiencies were observed. LPA forwarded (LIC 9213) Notice of Site visit.
