25 | On 2/27/20 at 9:55am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melissa Stewart conducted an unannounced Required- 1 year inspection and met with Licensee, Vickie Bittle. The purpose of the inspection was explained and the home was toured inside and out. All required forms are posted in a prominent location. At the time of inspection, there were 5 children supervised by one assistant and Licensee.
LPA observed age appropriate toys, books and furnishings in the indoor activity area. The bathroom used by children was observed to be clean and free of toxins. Two bedrooms are off limits and kept locked during operating hours. The third bedroom is used for napping. All hazardous items are stored inaccessible to children in care. Licensee stated there are no guns or ammunition in the home. LPA observed a variety of age appropriate toys, climbing structures located on sand and riding toys in the front yard which is completely fenced; there are no bodies of water. The backyard is separated from the front with a fence and is not used for child care.
Carbon monoxide and smoke detectors were tested and operational. LPA observed the 2 A10 BC fire extinguisher located in the indoor activity area which was serviced on 2/5/20. Licensee was reminded to service or replace the fire extinguisher yearly. Licensee completes and documents emergency drills. The most recent drill was held on 2/12/20. Licensee is Pediatric CPR and first aid certified through 3/24/21. Licensee and assistants have met SB 792 immunization requirement. Continued on 809-C |
