LPA met with Michelle Holm, Director of the CCC and explained the purpose of the inspection. The LPA, in the company of the Director, toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The CCC operates from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday. The CCC uses 4 classrooms (Pre Kindergarten Classroom- ages 4 and above, Preschool Classroom- ages 3-4, Toddler Classroom ages 2-3 and an Early Learner Classroom -currently vacant) for care. LPA observed 37 children on site along with 11 teachers (cleared and associated) providing supervision.
All classrooms of the CCC were clean and organized. The classrooms had age appropriate toys and furnishings available for children in care. The CCC has operable carbon monoxide detectors in each classroom. LPA tested a carbon monoxide detector in the CCC's Preschool Classroom at 10:20 AM Restrooms are attached to classrooms at the CCC. Each restroom was observed in safe and sanitary operating condition. LPA observed an operable refrigerator and cooler in the CCC's kitchen which contained food and beverages for children in care. LPA notes snacks and lunches are provided by the CCC. LPA observed food menus posted in the CCC. There is available drinking water for children both inside the classroom and outside in the play area.
Disinfectants and cleaning solutions are observed in secured cabinet in each classroom. Likewise, sharps are located in the teachers offices of each classroom. The teacher's offices are secure and inaccessible to children in care. Medication at the CCC is stored in elevated cabinets in reach classroom. The location of the medication is beyond the reach of children in care and secured. LPA observed waste receptacles with tight fitting covers throughout the interior and exterior of the CCC.
The CCC has an electronic sign In/out system (Bright Wheels). A portal for the system is at the CCC's entry. LPA reviewed system entries and found entries to contain appropriate sign in/sign out information. LPA notes required licensing documents and forms are posted in a hallway wall near the entry of the CCC.
