25 | On September 30, 2022 at 10:32 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Francisco Pedroza conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. LPA met with licensee Catherine McCardle and advised her the purpose of the inspection. Licensee provided LPA a tour of the facility inside and out. There were five (5) children in care during the inspection. Hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:00 am - 2:00 PM.
Licensee has a single story home. Licensee uses a converted garage, one restroom, and the backyard for children in care. The rest of the home is off-limits to the children. Licensee has a gate at the end of the hallway preventing children from accessing the home. Licensee operates the facility with preschool curriculum. LPA did not observe hazards/toxins accessible to children in care. Licensee stores cleaners above the sink in a cabinet. A 2A10BC fire extinguisher was observed mounted on a wall in the day care room with a service date of 3/4/22. LPA reminded licensee that the fire extinguisher must be serviced or a new one purchased annually. LPA observed age appropriate toys, books, and furniture readily accessible for children in care. The backyard is enclosed with a secured fence preventing children from leaving the facility. Licensee has age appropriate toys and play structures readily accessible for children in care when they are outside playing.
LPA reviewed a sampling of children and staff records. The children and staff records were found to be current and complete. Facility staff met the requirements for Mandated Reporter and CPR/First-Aid. The last fire drill was completed on September 26, 2022. LPA spoke with licensee about current Covid-19 requirements. Licensee is following current guidelines.
No deficiencies were cited during today's inspection.
