25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced annual/random and met with licensee, Ms. Luz Maria Lara. The purpose of the visit was discussed. There were 5 children present during the inspection. The home was toured inside and out, there were 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Living room is used for day care, garage was converted to day care area. There are no bodies of water observed. Licensee stated there are no guns nor ammunition.
CPR and First Aid expires on 9/4/2019. Fire extinguisher was serviced on 2/8/19. The carbon monoxide and smoke detectors were tested and found functional. The cleaning compound, knives and other hazardous items are kept inaccessible to children in care. Licensee and assistant met the SB 792, immunization records are on file. All the required forms are posted in the prominent location. Fire and disaster drill are conducted and logged, last drill was conducted on 6/11/2019. LPA discussed the Safe Sleep Concept and provided flyer for "The Effects of Lead Exposure" for distribution to parents of day care children.
Licensee does not provide Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was reminded that it is her responsibility to know the regulations for Family Child Care Home which can be accessed on-line at www.ccld.ca.gov.
LPA observed licensee post the Notice of Site visit.
FAILURE TO POST THE NOTICE OF SITE VISIT FOR 30 DAYS MAY RESULT IN A $100.00 CIVIL PENALTY.
