On 2/24/20 at 1:50pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melissa Stewart conducted an unannounced, Annual/random inspection and met with Licensee, Maria Rosas, whose primary language is Spanish. LPA informed Licensee that if they are unable to understand each other, LPA will contact the language translation service for assistance. Licensee stated that she understood. The purpose of the inspection was explained and the home was toured inside and out. All required forms are posted in a prominent location. At the time of inspection, there were 8 children (2 being infants) supervised by two assistants and Licensee.

The family child care home operates on the first floor living room, dining area, converted garage and backyard of the home. LPA observed age appropriate toys, books and furnishings in the indoor activity area located in the garage. The bathroom used by children was observed to be clean and free of toxins. The upstairs is off limits and is made inaccessible by a child safety gate. There is an additional off limits room downstairs located through sliding glass doors which are kept locked. All hazardous items are stored inaccessible to children in care. Licensee stated there are no guns or ammunition in the home. Carbon monoxide and smoke detectors were tested and operational. LPA observed the 2 A10 BC fire extinguisher which was serviced on 4/30/19. Licensee was reminded to service or replace the fire extinguisher yearly. Licensee completes and documents emergency drills. The most recent drill was held on 1/7/20. Continued on 809-C
