On 9/23/21, at 9:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted a unannounced Required Annual inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Rebecca Higgins, Licensee of the FCCH and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of Licensee, toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. The home’s entire first story, specifically the home's living room, den, kitchen, and hallway restroom, is used for child care, while the home’s upper story is detached and excluded from care. At the time of the inspection LPA observed six children on site.

LPA observed required licensing forms and documents posted on the wall near the FCCH's main entry. LPA observed a combination smoke and carbon monoxide detector in the FCCH. The detector was tested at 9:40 AM and found to be operable. The FCCH has a regulation fire extinguisher which was purchased on 1/16/21. LPA reminded the Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. LPA reviewed the home’s fire/disaster drill log and noted the last fire/disaster drill occurred on 9/16/21.

LPA observed age appropriate toys, furniture and equipment in the FCCH's interior. The home is void of hazards. LPA observed the restroom used by children in care to be clean and free of toxins. Medication is stored in the upper story of the home which is inaccessible to children and excluded from care. LPA observed cleaning compounds on an elevated shelf in the restroom used for child care. LPA observed the cleaning compounds to be beyond the reach of children in care. Sharps in the FCCH are stored on an elevated shelf in a cabinet which is beyond the reach of children.

The backyard is enclosed by wooden and composite plastic fencing. The fence’s entry/exit gates are secure. The backyard has a number of play structures and trees which providing shade. Toys and play equipment in the backyard area are age appropriate and in satisfactory condition. No bodies of water are observed on site.

LPA reviewed a sampling of children's and Licensee's records. The children's records are current and
