25 | On June 3, 2022 at 12:55 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Francisco Pedroza conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. LPA met with licensee Margit Bereda and advised her the purpose of the inspection. Licensee provided LPA a tour of the facility inside and out. There were 10 children in care and two (2) assistants assisting.
The licensee is currently using the living room, two (2) bedrooms, one (1) bathroom, and backyard for children in care. LPA did not observe any toxin/hazards accessible to children in care. Licensee stores the disinfectants and medications in a top cabinet located in the kitchen. LPA observed a 2A10BC fire extinguisher with a service date of 3/28/22 mounted on the wall in the kitchen readily accessible. Licensee advised to ensure the fire extinguisher is serviced or a new one in purchased every year. LPA observed a floor furnace with metal screen in the living room preventing children from having access. The facility has working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. LPA observed age appropriate toys and furniture readily accessible to children in care. The backyard is enclosed with a fence. Licensee has a large back yard with a basketball court, garden, toys, and play structures for children in care. Children have their own water bottles brought from home. Licensee does not have firearms and live ammunition on the property.
LPA observed the facility roster was current. A sampling of children records were reviewed and found to be current. LPA verified SB792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis requirements. Staff have current Pediatric CPR/First-Aid and Mandated Reporter certificates. The last fire drill was completed on 3/9/2022. LPA provided licensee with Carbon monoxide resource.
No deficiencies were cited during today's inspection.
