25 | On 9/30/24, at 10:00 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Elvin Baddley and Matthew Sapien conducted an unannounced Case Management Inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH) to assess the feasibility of providing child care in previously excluded areas of the FCCH (nursery and toddler activity room). LPAs met with Licensee Mindy Nusser-Rains. There are also two staff assistants and eleven children in care during the time of the inspection.
On 9/27/24, the Templeton Fire Department conducted a fire inspection of the home, and concluded the previously excluded rooms are adequate for childcare services (nursery and toddler room). Like the Fire Department, LPAs confirmed that the nursery and toddler room are adequate for child care services. LPAs observed no hazards in either of the rooms. Each room has ventilation and accommodations to afford for child care. LPAs note that the toddler room has one closet which is secure and inaccessible to children in care.
Given the inspection, the areas of the FCCH to be used for childcare services are the converted rooms (nursery and toddler activity room), home's bedrooms (master bedroom and guest bedroom), living room, two bathrooms, and home's backyard. It should be noted these areas have child-safety mechanisms (locks, gates, etc) in place. The only area of the FCCH that will not be used for child care services is the backyard shed which is secured and excluded.
No deficiencies were cited during today's inspection. Exit interview was conducted and reviewed with Licensee Mindy Nusser-Rains. |
