25 | On 6/20/23, at 1:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced One Year Required Inspection the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Christy Hilliard, Director of the CCC and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of Director, toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The CCC operates from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday and 7:30 AM- 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday during the Summer. This is a combined center with a School Age program/license. The preschool uses three classrooms for child care, however one classroom is closed due to the school's population and being used by the School Age program. LPA observed 18 children in care during the inspection along with four teachers (cleared and associated).
The classrooms of the CCC are clean and organized. The classrooms have age appropriate toys and furnishings available for children. The CCC has an operable carbon monoxide detector which was tested (1:24 PM). The attached bathroom in each classroom is in safe and sanitary operating condition. LPA observed an operable refrigerator in each classroom and noted snacks are provided by the CCC, while children in care bring lunches from their respective homes. There is available drinking water (bottled and from the facility source) for children both inside the classroom and outside in the play area. Director informed LPA the CCC's water sources have been tested for lead containment levels. Test result are posted along with other required licensing forms and documents. LPA reviewed Sign In/Out forms and notes the child arrival and departure times along with the signature of authorized representatives. Disinfectants and cleaning solutions are secured in a staff bathroom storages and inaccessible to children. Disinfectants and cleaning solutions are also observed on elevated shelves in each classroom beyond the reach of children. Likewise, sharps in the classroom are observed on elevated shelves, beyond the reach of children in care.
The CCC has two outdoor playground areas. Each playground is enclosed by chain linked fencing and the footing in the area is varied. The fences' entry/exit gates are secured. LPA observed age appropriate toys and play equipment in the play area. The toys and play equipment are in suitable condition and free of (CONT. 809-C, Page 2)
