25 | On 6/6/24, at 12:45 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced Annual/Random Inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Macrina Cervantes, Licensee of the FCCH. As the Licensee is primarily Spanish speaking, the Licensee's Assistant/spouse Juan Cervantes, assisted with communication between LPA and Licensee (Spanish to English, vis versa). LPA explained the purpose of the inspection to Licensee. LPA, in the company of the
Assistant, toured the exterior and interior of the FCCH. The FCCH's living room, kitchen, hall bathroom and day room and backyard are used for child care services, while remainder of the home is excluded from care.
LPA notes the home in a single story dwelling with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. At the time of the inspection, LPA observed seven children present. LPA notes all children where in different phases of napping.
The FCCH was clean and orderly and void of hazardous items. Required forms are posted in the FCCH's day room wall. Medication in the home is stored in the master bedroom which is excluded from care. Cleaning compounds are stored under the kitchen sink and in the garage, both of which are inaccessible to children. LPA observed the restroom used for children to be clean and free of toxins LPA observed a fireplace in the home which was screened and inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the FCCH. The aforementioned were not tested as children in care are in the process of napping. The FCCH has a regulation fire extinguisher which was serviced on 11/14/23. LPA reminded the Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. Toys, furniture and play equipment observed in the FCCH are age appropriate. The home maintains working telephone services.
The backyard is enclosed by wooden fencing. The footing in the area is varied. LPA observed a shed in backyard which was secured. The shed contained household items. There is a secured side gate which
