25 | On February 14, 2020, at 9:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced One Year Required inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Christina and Christopher Raj , Licensees of the FCCH and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of Licensees, toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. The home’s living room, dining room, front yard and hallway bathroom are used for child care, while the remainder of the home is excluded from child care services. At the time of the inspection eight children are present.
Required forms and documents are posted on the wall in the FCCH (entry hallway). The FCCH's living room has a brick fireplace which is screened by a storage container and inaccessible to children. LPA observed a combination smoke and carbon monoxide detector affixed to the FCCH's hallway ceiling.The detector was tested and found to be operable. The FCCH has a regulation fire extinguisher which was purchased on January 2, 2020. LPA reminded the Licensees to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually.
The home was orderly and void of hazardous items. The bathroom used for child care was clean and free of toxins. Medication in the home is stored on an elevated shelf in the hallway bathroom which is inaccessible to children. Cleaning compounds in the FCCH are stored in the master bedroom and laundry which are both exclude from care and inaccessible to children.Toys, games and furniture observed in the FCCH are age appropriate.
The front yard is enclosed by wood, brick, plastic composite fencing. The fence’s entry/exit gates were secure. Toys and play equipment observed are age appropriate and in satisfactory condition. No bodies of water were observed on site. The FCCH has two dogs. LPA reviewed vaccination records for the dogs and found the records to be current.
