On 8/26/21 at 12:20pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melissa Stewart conducted an unannounced, Required- 1 year inspection and met with Director, Katie Mervin, in the reception area of the Child Care Center (CCC). LPA conducted a Risk Assessment for COVID19 and all answers indicated no exposure to COVID19. The center is located on the campus of Cuesta College North County (building 4000) and operates, Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 5:15pm. All required forms are posted in the main hallway which leads to two (2) preschool classrooms and one (1) toddler classroom. The center was toured inside and outside. Individual daily sign in and out sheets are located on clipboards outside of each classroom. The bi-weekly menus are also posted outside of each classroom. There were two (2) staff supervising six (6) toddlers sitting at a table in the covered patio outside of their classroom eating lunch. The classrooms and restrooms were observed to be clean, organized and free of toxins. There were 17 preschool children supervised by four (4) staff. All staff were observed to be wearing face coverings indoors. Director reported that children over the age of 2 years arrive with face coverings and are encouraged and reminded to keep them on while indoors. LPA observed indoor and outdoor activity centers containing books, puzzles, manipulatives, blocks, arts and crafts and dramatic play materials. The indoor furnishings and outdoor playground equipment was observed to be age appropriate and in safe condition, free from sharp, loose or pointed parts. Sanitizing supplies are stored in the kitchen of each classroom. Medications are stored in a locked box in or near the refrigerator of each classroom's kitchen.

The center conducts monthly emergency and disaster drills. The most recent drill was held on 8/25/21. The first aid kits are stored in each classroom's emergency backpack. LPA observed a functional carbon monoxide detector plugged in to the wall of the preschool classroom. Director reported that carbon monoxide detection is also incorporated into the air filtration system.Cont. 809-C
