1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25	On 7/14/21, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced Required Inspection of the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Kylee Jacobson Director of the CCC and explained the purpose of the inspection. Assistant Director Alexandra Stoddard is also present. The LPA, in the company of the Director and Assistant Director toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The CCC operates from 7:30 AM to 530 PM, Monday - Friday. One Building/classroom (Building 1/"Two Year Old Room") and a neighboring play yard is used for care. LPA observed 22 children on site along with 4 teachers providing supervision. The classroom of the CCC is clean and organized. The classroom has age appropriate toys and furnishings available for children. LPA observed a carbon monoxide detector in the classroom which was tested and found to be operable. The restrooms, two in total, were in safe and sanitary operating condition. The CCC has a refrigerator to store food and beverages when need be. Disinfectants and cleaning solutions are stored in an elevated cabinet in classroom which is secure and beyond the reach of children in care. The Director informed LPA no medication is on site, however when medication is present, the Director stated the medication is placed in an elevated cabinet in the classroom which is inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed sharps in the classroom secure in an elevated cabinet which is inaccessible to children in care. The CCC's outdoor activity area is comprised of an artificial grass lawn, a sand play area and concrete sidewalks. The area is enclosed by wood and chain linked fencing. The fence’s entry/exit gates are secured. The LPA observed age appropriate toys and equipment in the play area. The toys and play equipment are in suitable condition and free of sharp, loose or pointed objects. The play structures in the activity area has adequate cushioning materials to absorb falls. LPA also observed the area has abundance of shade (i.e. shade sails). No bodies of water were observed on site. There is available drinking water (water fountains) for children both inside the classroom and outside in the play areas. Waste receptacles with tight fitting covers were observed throughout the center. (CONT 809-C)

Children in care bring lunches and snacks from their respective homes. Additionally, each classroom had licensing required noticed posted predominately. The CCC uses electronic means to sign children in and out. LPA reviewed sign in and sign out which was completed appropriately.

A sampling of staff and children records were reviewed. The children’s records were complete and found to contain emergency contact information. Staff records were reviewed and contained documentation to support their educational training and experience. Director noted no firearms/weapons or ammunition was stored on the premises.

This facility does not provides Incidental Medical Services (IMS). LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. LPA discussed COVID 19 guidance and best practices with the Director. Director was reminded that it is Director's responsibility to know the regulations for a CCC which can be accessed on-line at www.ccld.ca.gov.

In areas evaluated, there were no deficiencies cited at this time.
