25 | On 7/15/22, at 12:46 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced One Year Required Inspection of the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Kylee Davis, Director of the CCC and explained the nature of the inspection. The CCC consist of one building and an outdoor play area which houses two and three year old children. On the property of the CCC are three other building/classroom with separate preschool licenses. The CCC operates from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday. LPA, in the company of the Director toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. No children are on site during at the time of the inspection. LPA notes the kitchen area of the building was removed and replaced with cabinetry and new flooring. The noted area has open space. This area is being inspected for use, as the area was previous excluded from child care services.
The CCC is clean, orderly and organized. The CCC has age appropriate toys and furnishings available for children. LPA observed a carbon monoxide detector in the classroom, one of which was tested and found to be operable at 1:10 PM. The restroom is in safe and free of toxins. The CCC has a refrigerator to store food and beverages. Children in care bring lunches from their homes, while the CCC provides snacks. Staff members inspect lunches to ensure children are eating healthy choices and avoiding junk foods. The CCC provides bottled water for the children inside and outside of the CCC. The Director has been reminded of the need to have the CCC's water sources tested for lead contaminants. The CCC has a posted menu near the entry, along with licensing required notices and documents. The CCC uses an electronic application to sign children in and out. LPA reviewed sign in and sign out information and notes the information is completed appropriately.
Disinfectants and cleaning solutions are stored in an elevated shelf in classroom which are beyond the reach of children in care. The Director informed LPA no medication is on site, however when medication is present, the Director stated the medication is placed in an elevated cabinet in the classroom which is inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed sharps in the classroom secure in an elevated cabinet which is inaccessible to (CONT 809-C) |
