25 | On July 29, 2021, at 12:10 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Francisca Velazquez and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Maria Mueller conducted a Comprehensive Required Annual inspection of the facility. Prior to entering the facility, LPA conducted COVID-19 pre-screening questionnaire and based on Licensee's responses it was determined that there were not COVID-19 exposures in the facility. LPA and LPM met with Erika Aispuro, Licensees of the facility and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA and LPM, in the company of Licensee toured the interior and exterior of the facility. The home’s living room, kitchen, one bedroom, bathroom and backyard are used for child care. At the time of the inspection eight (8) children are present.
Required licensing forms are posted on the wall of living room. The living room has an open face heater that is covered and inaccessible to children in play by metal gate. Licensee stated that open face heater is not used during the summer and only used during winter months. Per Licensee, open face heater has not been used since January 2021. LPA observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the home which were tested and found operable at 1:20 PM. Likewise, the home has a regulation fire extinguisher which was service on July 13, 2021. LPA reminded the Licensees to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually.
The home was clean, orderly and void of hazardous items. LPA observed that cleaning compounds are stored in facility's kitchen in a high cabinet that is inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed that sharps are stored in a high cabinet in the kitchen and are inaccessible to children in care. Medication in the facility is stored in a locked box in the bedroom in a high shelve that is inaccessible to children in care. Toys, furniture and equipment observed in the facility are age appropriate.
