25 | On 11/1/21, at 8:45 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Jenna Penner, Licensee of the FCCH, and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA notes a Case Management inspection is also conducted as the Licensee extended the front and back yards for child care. LPA, in the company of the Licensee, toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. The home’s living room, hall restroom, guest rooms, and yards are used for child care, while the home’s master bedroom, kitchen and laundry room are excluded from care. At the time of the inspection two children (biological) are present. LPA notes the FCCH will resume operational status after being inactive for year.
The home was orderly and void of hazardous items. Medication is stored in a locked box in a bathroom cabinet which is inaccessible to children. LPA observed cleaning compounds in the FCCH's laundry room Toys and play equipment observed in home are age appropriate.
Required forms are posted on a bulletin board in the FCCH's living room. LPA observed operable smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Each detector was tested at 9:15 AM. The FCCH has a regulation fire extinguisher which was serviced on 10/25/21. LPA reminded the Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. FCCH's living room has a fireplace which is screened with a glass door, making it inaccessible to children. LPA observed a child safety gate at the entry of the kitchen with serves as a barricade to the excluded. The bathroom use for care is clean and free of toxins. The guest rooms have two cribs in each room. The room also have age appropriate toys and furnishing.
The FCCH's yards, front and back, are enclosed by wooden fencing. The entry/exits gate were observed secure. LPA observed a hot tub in the backyard, The hot tub was covered and secured. LPA notes age appropriate toys and furnishing are observed in the areas.
