25 | On 9/23/21, at 1:30 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted a unannounced Required Annual inspection of the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Mary Gilbert, Licensee of the CCC and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Director, toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The CCC operates from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday thur Friday. The CCC is a combination infant center with a toddler option. LPA observed 24 children on site with six teachers (cleared and associated) providing care and supervision.
Licensing required documents and forms were posted on the wall of the CCC's infant play room. The CCC uses three classrooms (two infant and one toddler). A fixed book shelving unit serves as a partition between the toddler and infant classroom. LPA observed twenty cribs available for use. CCC uses cots for older children with advance levels of mobility. Changing tables are observed on site in arm's length of sinks. LPA observed operable refrigerators in the CCC's staff room. LPA observed labeled liquids and food stored in the refrigerators.
CCC uses an electronic sign-in/sign-out system (Bright Wheel). Parents of children in care access the system remotely. LPA reviewed the records of children and staff. Staff members present have current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificates (ESMA approved) as well as current Mandated Reporter training certificates. LPA observed current immunizations and emergency contact information for children in care. Further, LPA reviewed Individual needs, service and feeding plans as well as documentation noting children's sleep logged in intervals of 15 minutes.
The CCC outdoor play area is enclosed by a combination of wooden, cider block and wroth iron fencing. Entry/exit gates are secure. The footing in the area is comprised of artificial grass, sand play areas and a concrete walkway. Toys and equipment in the area are age appropriate. LPA observe ample shade in the area (i.e. shade covering and trees). No bodies of water are observed on site.
