25 | On 12/1/22, at 8:45 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted a unannounced One Year Required Annual inspection of the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Mary Gilbert, Licensee/Director of the CCC, herein Director. LPA explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Director, toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The CCC operates from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday thur Friday. The CCC is a combination infant center with a toddler option. LPA observed 33 children on site with nine teachers (cleared and associated) providing care and supervision.
Licensing required documents and notices are posted on the wall of the CCC's infant play room near the entry. The CCC uses three classrooms (two infant and one toddler). A fixed book shelving unit serves as a partition between the toddler and infant classroom. LPA observed twenty cribs available for use. CCC also uses cots for older children with levels of varied mobility. Changing tables are observed throughout the site in arm's length of sinks. LPA observed an operable refrigerator in the CCC's staff room. The refrigerator contains labeled liquids and food for children in care. LPA also observed carbon monoxide detectors through the CCC. A carbon monoxide detector in the toddler room was tested at 9:36 AM and found to be operable. The CCC uses an electronic sign-in/sign-out system. The system contains the arrival and departure times of children in care. Parents of children in care have access to the system remotely. Medication and cleaning compounds at the CCC are stored in the CCC's kitchen which is inaccessible to children in care.
Children in care bring lunches form home. The CCC provides snacks. Bottled water is provided to children in care and the CCC does not use on site water sources for consumption or the washing of foods, LPA reminded Director of the need to have the CCC's water sources tested for lead containments.
The CCC outdoor play area is enclosed by a combination of wooden, cider block and wroth iron fencing. Entry/exit gates are secure. The footing in the area is varied. Toys and equipment in the area are age appropriate. LPA reminds Director to remove toys and play equipment in the outdoor area which begins to degrade or is is not in good repair. LPA observe ample shade in the area (i.e. shade covering and trees). The water is observed on (CONT LIC 809-C)
