25 | On 8/12/22, at 9:10 AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced Required inspection the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Julie Reid, Assistant Director of the CCC and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Assistant Director toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The CCC operates from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday. The CCC is dedicated infant program. At the time of the inspection, six children are observed in care, along with two Assistants/Aides (not cleared or associated).
Shortly after entering the CCC, LPA asked the Assistant Director of the names other staff member at the CCC (9:20 AM). Assistant Director provided the names of S1 and S2. LPA was unable to locate the names of either staff members on the Facility's roster. LPA asked the Assistant Director of S1 and S2's employment status. Assistant Director informed LPA S1 and S2 were in training at the CCC and were called into assist as another teacher had an unexpected emergency and could not be present. Facility Director, Sophia Crisp, who was reached by telephone, reiterated the aforementioned. LPA informed Assistant Director and Director of the need to have all individuals working at the CCC criminally cleared and associated prior their internal start..
The CCC is clean and organized. Likewise, the CCC has ventilation to afford for child care. LPA observed age appropriate toys and furnishings throughout the CCC. The CCC was eight cribs for children in care . LPA observed carbon monoxide detectors affixed to the ceiling. The detectors were not tested by LPA as a number of children in care are in the process of sleeping, however LPA observed a blinking green light in the detectors which notes the detectors' operational/functioning status. The CCC's bathroom is in safe and sanitary operating condition. The CCC has an operable refrigerator. The refrigerator contains the children's. food and formula which is labeled and dated. The CCC provides the children in care bottled water. The Assistant Director was reminded of the need to have the CCC's water sources tested for lead containments. Disinfectants and cleaning solutions are secure on an elevated shelf in a locked closet. Each location is inaccessible to children in care.
