Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Cindy Interiano, conducted an Annual/Random Inspection this day and met with Program Director, Shelley (Michelle) Marquez. Also present during the inspection is Director of Operations, Rachel Heck and Human Resources, Jo Paraventi. Facility operates Mon-Fri, 7a-6p, year-round with periodic breaks throughout the year. Program operates in 6 classrooms: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple. LPA and Director inspected the facility indoors and outdoors for Health and Safety Hazards. Present during the visit is 19 staff caring for 128 children: 115 Preschool children and 13 Toddlers in the Toddler option. Facility is in compliance with Staff: Child ratios. Each classroom has age appropriate toys and equipment that are in good repair. Cubbies/hooks/bins are used to store children’s belongings. Napping equipment is properly stored in each classroom. Building has an industrial fire alarm, and each classroom is equipped with a smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and fully charged fire extinguisher. Each classroom has proper ventilation and sufficient lighting. Children’s restrooms are located in some classrooms, with a total of 14 toilets, 9 sinks, and additional changing tables. Restrooms are maintained clean, in good repair, and with adequate supplies. There are separate staff restrooms, which are maintained off limits to children. Medications are stored in the kitchen, inaccessible to children. Each child’s medication is individually kept in a plastic bin, with doctor’s prescription and log. First Aid kit is fully equipped and properly stored in each classroom. All cleaning products and toxins are stored inaccessible to children. Program provides AM/PM snacks and lunch, which are prepared in on-site Kitchen. There are no bodies of water, firearms or other dangerous weapons on the premises. Fireplace in the Purple room is properly barricaded.

Outdoor playareas are ‘divided’ into sections: Toddler Playyard and Preschool Playyard with Bike Trail, The Field, The Village, Deck area, and Patio area. Classrooms have scheduled use of the outdoor playareas. Outdoor play area is maintained free of debris and dangerous conditions. A daily sweep is conducted by staff of the outdoor play area prior to children going out for outdoor play. Outdoor playarea is completely fenced in. All outdoor toys and equipment are age appropriate and in good repair. Sand box is covered daily and inspected throughout the day. Drinking water is readily available indoors and outdoors. Last emergency drill was conducted on 04/03/19 and is properly logged. All postings are in the main lobby area, including menus, near the sign in/out table. Program uses electronic sign in/out on desktop computers and each individual authorized guardian has a pin. If network is not functioning, Program uses paper sign in/out sheets. All staff have required immunization and Mandated Reporter training certificate on file.

During inspection,
*Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed.
*Director was reminded about having all Staff and Volunteers provide proof of immunization against influenza, pertussis, and measles or qualifies for an exemption.
*Director was reminded of Pesticides training. Information on the DPR website at: www.cdpr.ca.gov/shoolipm/childcare.
*Director was reminded about Mandated Reporter Training available on CCLD website (www.ccld.ca.gov or www.mandatedreporterca.com)
*Director was reminded about the Provider Information Notices (PINs) on CCLD website.

***No deficiencies were cited against the facility under CCR,Title 22, Div. 12, Ch. 1. ***
