25 | Due to the COVID-19 health crisis and state, local county orders, a tele-inspection was conducted. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Van met with the lead teacher, Jacqueline Wisecarver, via Facetime. Currently, there are 21 children at the center. The purpose of the tele-inspection today is a case- management to incorporate room #121 into the daycare; the total licensed capacity remains the same at 30.
LPA inspects the current daycare areas and the newly adds room #121 for health and safety hazards. Per the lead teacher, room #121 is being added to the license temporarily due to COVID-19 as safety measures, and allow the children to maintain the six-feet social distancing. The Department has received a supporting document from the Principal of Mercy High school that allowed the Preschool to use room #121 throughout the 2020 – 2021 school year.
LPA observed the new room to be clean, orderly, and has a variety of age-appropriate toys and books for the children. All furniture is in good repair. There are several child-size tables and chairs. The children's belongings/backpacks are hanging on the wall with hooks. The bathrooms, toilets, and sinks are clean and well sanitized. All solid waste bins have a proper tight-fitted lid on top. The facility has water fountains for drinking water available for children. All cleaning supplies are made inaccessible to children.
The Department received the fire clearance approval on August 24, 2020. Per the Fire inspector, the maximum capacity for room #121 is 20 children.
As of September 9, 2020, room #121 is now incorporated into the daycare. This report will be sent to the Lead Teacher via email with a read receipt confirmation in lieu of the Lead Teacher's signature. |
