25 | On March 7, 2023 at @ 2:11pm. Licensing Program AnalystLPA)Maria Olguin-Leon met with Director, Roseanne Bautista for required annual inspection. Purpose of inspection was explained. Present today, Director, 1 staff and 15 school-age children. Facility is operating within the capacity and in compliance with staff child ratio. Facility operates preschool/after-school program from Monday to Friday 7:00AM to 6:00PM.
LPA and site director toured the facility for health and safety hazards. Current facility operates on the campus of Roosevelt Elementary School in the upper campus in room 33. There is a preschool program that runs from 7 AM to 12:30PM and the after-school program from 12:30PM to 6:00PM. Facility is clean with proper ventilation. There are plenty of age-appropriate toys, furniture and learning materials all in good repair. Cubbies are available for children to store personal items and belongings. The classroom has one restroom for children’s use and one staff restroom. Bathroom sink has no running hot water. All trash containers in bathroom and in classroom have fitted lids. Facility has sufficient sleeping cots. Parents provide sheets for mats and are sent home for washing. Facility uses school playground which has swing set and play structure. Playground flooring has tanbark for cushioning falls.
The facility has all necessary paperwork posted, Facility License, Notification of Parent's Rights, Notification of Personal Rights, Car Seat Law, and Emergency Disaster Plan. Last emergency drill was conducted on October 20, 2022 conducted on November 21, 2019. Mandated Reporting is expired, technical assistance cited. Licensee will email updated CPR/First Aid certificate.
Children bring their own lunches, and one snack is provided to children in each program. Children have their own labeled water bottles to use inside or outside. There is a first aid kit full of necessary medical supplies. Incidental Medical Services were discussed, per director IMS is not provided. Isolation area for sick children is by staff desk area. All cleaning products, chemicals, and toxins are inaccessible to children. LPA reviewed sign in/out sheet for both preschool and after school care program.. Preschool parents sign children in and out, after school care children are signed in by director. Classroom is fitted with working fire alarm system, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and smoke detector smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a working telephone available on site.
