Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Cindy Interiano conducted an unannounced Annual/Required inspection and met with Director, Gloria Marshall. Purpose of the inspection was explained. Facility operates Mon-Fri, 7:30a-5:30p, year round with periodic breaks throughout the year. Facility operates in 4 rooms: Yellow Door, Blue Door, Purple Door, and Green Door. Present is Director and 11 Staff supervising 71 children. Facility is in compliance with Staff: Child ratios. All staff have criminal record clearance. LPA and Program Specialist, Veronica Ibarra, toured and inspected the facility indoors and outdoors for Health and Safety hazards. Each classroom has age appropriate toys and equipment are in good repair. Cubbies and bins are used to store children’s belongings. Napping equipment is properly stored. Children’s restroom located between Yellow and Blue Door classrooms has 3 toilets and 2 facets. Children’s restroom near the office also has 3 toilets and 2 sinks. Additional sinks are in the classroom. Restrooms are maintained clean, in good repair, and with adequate supplies. There are separate staff restrooms in the office. Cleaning supplies and toxins are maintained off limits to children. Kitchen area is maintained inaccessible to children. Program serves snacks and daily meals, which are prepared in the on-site kitchen. Each classroom is equipped with an industrial smoke alarm, a carbon monoxide, and a fully charged fire extinguisher. Last emergency drill was conducted on 04/23/19 and is properly logged. First Aid kit is fully equipped and properly stored in each classroom. Outdoor play area are kept free of debris and dangerous conditions and completely fenced in. A daily sweep is conducted by staff of the outdoor play areas prior to children going out for outdoor play. All outdoor toys and equipment are age appropriate and in good repair. Sand box is covered daily. Drinking water is readily available indoors and outdoors. All mandatory postings are properly posted. LPA reviewed sign in/out sheets and are complete. All staff have required immunization and Mandated Reporter training certificate on file.

During inspection, LPA and Director discussed two incidents which occurred in 03/2019. During one incident, it was reported that a rodent was seen on premises. Director immediately called a Pest Control company, who came out and properly ‘treated’ the area during non-operational hours. LPA inspected classroom area and outdoor play area and did not observe any Health and Safety issues.
Also, in 03/2019, a family reported a Domestic issue and informed Staff so Staff can provide extra support for the child. Facility provided Family with resources. Child continues to attend.

Also during inspection,
*Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed.
*Director was reminded about having all Staff and Volunteers provide proof of immunization against influenza, pertussis, and measles or qualifies for an exemption.
*Director was reminded of Pesticides training. Information on the DPR website at: www.cdpr.ca.gov/shoolipm/childcare.
*Director was reminded about Mandated Reporter Training available on CCLD website
(www.ccld.ca.gov or www.mandatedreporterca.com)
*Director was reminded about the Provider Information Notices (PINs) on CCLD website.
