25 | On March 15, 2022 at 9:15am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Catrina Quimbo conducted an unannounced, annual, required inspection. LPA met with licensee, April Fender, and explained the purpose of the inspection. At start of inspection, licensee, licensee's helper (H1) and 8 enrolled children were present.
All adults living and/or working in the home have a criminal record clearance on file. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 5:00pm. Licensee owns the single level, single family home. Home includes 3 bedrooms, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, living room, family room, garage, deck and backyard area. The DAY CARE AREAS are the kitchen, living room, family room, hall bathroom, garage, deck and backyard. The OFF-LIMIT AREAS are all 3 bedrooms and bathroom located in master bedroom. All off limit areas are barricaded with locked doors and/or child safety gates.
At approximately 9:40am, additional enrolled child arrived to home. Present during inspection included licensee, H1 and 9 enrolled children (all preschool age). Facility is operating within capacity limits and ratio on this date.
LPA observed home to be in good repair with proper temperature and ventilation. All cleaning supplies, poisons and other chemicals were stored inaccessible to children in facility's high cabinets and/or shelves behind child safety locked cabinets. Home has a fireplace that is properly barricaded from children. There were a variety of age appropriate toys and equipment that were in good condition. Outside area does not include any pools, spas or bodies of water. Play structure was observed to have resilient padding. The entire backyard is enclosed with an least 5 ft. high fence. Backyard was observed to have age appropriate equipment that were in good working condition.
