13 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) Van and Leong conducted an unannounced subsequent complaint investigation to deliver the findings and met with the site Director, Allison Steckley. LPAs explained the purpose of the inspection and were granted entry to the facility by the staff. Present, 26 teachers are supervising 91 children. The facility is operating within the teachers/children ratio.
LPAs toured and inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. As part of this complaint investigation, the complainant, parents, and staff were interviewed; records and relevant information were obtained and reviewed. Regarding the allegation that the Center refused to accept children back after receiving negative COVID-19 test results. It was found that there were two separate occasions where the facility requested COVID test results from the family. The first was when children returned from Winter break, and the second request stemmed from a Social Media post where a parent posted that their children tested positive for COVID-19. The Center requested documentation and negative tests from the family, which according to Karen Wisialowski, Chief Community Officer, the Center never received.
