25 | On March 10, 2020, at 9:10 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Van met with the Director, Marcia True, for an unannounced annual inspection. The purpose of the inspection was explained and was granted entry to the facility by the Director. This is a preschool program, present today are two teachers supervising 13 children. The facility is in compliance with the staff/children ratios today. Days and hours of operations for the preschool are from Monday - Friday 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, in room #16.
At 9:15 am, LPA inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. The Director was assisting LPA with the inspection when necessary. The center is safe, sanitary, and in good repair. LPA observed that the center has a sign-in / out record with legal signatures from the parent or authorized representative. The center has age-appropriate toys and learning materials that are available for children. All furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharps, loose or pointed parts. LPA observed no pools, spas, or other bodies of water at the facility. All disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons, and other items that are dangerous to children are stored inaccessible to children. The facility has a centralized smoke alarm, a carbon monoxide, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a working telephone at the site. The facility has a bathroom, a total of two toilets, a large sink with two faucets. LPA observed that the toilets and sinks are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. LPA reviewed children's medication, the facility provides Incidental Medical Services (IMS). LPA reviewed storage and paperwork requirements with the Director, and observed medications are in a safe place inaccessible to children.
The outdoor playground area is in good repair. Play structures are free of any loose parts. All areas around or under high climbing equipment and slides are cushioned with material that absorbs falls. The facility has posted the required forms (i.e., License, menus, waivers, Notification of Parent's Rights, Notification of Personal Rights, Car Seat Law, and Emergency Disaster Plan). Director states Fire and Earthquake drills are done each month, the last drill was logged on 02/12/2020. |
